The Council of Fashion Designers of America on Tuesday unveiled the New York Fashion Week show calendar for September, boasting nine debut collections, the largest new crop this century.
The first-time additions to the Official NYFW Schedule will be 6397, Amir Taghi, Dwarmis, Lii, Maria McManus, Nardos, Raúl Peñaranda, Rùadh, and SC103, underlining New York’s role as an incubator of fresh talent.
Unexpectedly, the season will debut Thursday, September 11 with Michael Kors at 11 a.m., the first of 69 official runway shows on the calendar organized by the CFDA, American fashion’s governing body.
Traditionally, the major runway shows tended to begin on the Friday. This upcoming season will instead be busy from Thursday, September 11 with 12 catwalks show, to Tuesday, September 16. In effect, the season will now be concentrated in the first five days, with Tory Burch and happening label Luar the last two major names. They will close out shows on Tuesday, September 15.
New York can also boast bold face brands like Calvin Klein, Alexander Wang, Coach, Off-White and the newly reenergized Norma Kamali. Along with a series of exciting indie talents like Khaite, Altuzarra, Prabal Gurung, Zankov and Diotima.
However, three of America’s most famous global labels – Marc Jacobs, Tommy Hilfiger and Ralph Lauren will all skip the season, as they continue their recent policy of showing outside the official calendar. Plus, major new forces like Thom Browne and Willy Chavarria will also be absent.
However, the season will also include cool New York labels such as Anna Sui, Area, Bevza, Collina Strada, Eckhaus Latta, Fforme, Elena Velez, Jason Wu Collection, KidSuper, Lafayette 148, LaQuan Smith, L’Enchanteur, Luar, Sandy Liang, Sergio Hudson, Simkhai, Tibi, Todd Snyder, TWP, Ulla Johnson, and Who Decides War.
Plus, the 2025 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund finalists Ashlyn, Bach Mai, Bernard James, Don’t Let Disco, Gabe Gordon, Heirlome, Jamie Okuma, and Meruert Tolegen will hold activations or by-appointment presentations throughout the week.
The CFDA NYFW Fund was established in 2022 to raise awareness of the importance of NYFW’s cultural, artistic, and economic impact. Now in its seventh season, the CFDA NYFW Fund has supported nearly 50 international editors to date with financial and in-kind support made possible through brand contributions and strategic partnerships.

“With great returns to the calendar, visiting brands from around the world, and a new guard of rising talent finding their rhythm and stride, New York Fashion Week continues to be a gateway for discovery, creativity, and storytelling representing the spirit and independence of American fashion,” Maglieri added.
